December 2010: Year in Review Print E-mail

Year in review letters so often concentrate on the number of souls touched, the number of bibles handed out, the amount of clothing handed out, the number of volunteers serving during the cold months or very hot days, the amount of donations, the footprint of the organization, the number of people who found homes, the number of people found in tent cities, the number of people who were appreciative of a meal and/or prayer, etc…

Instead of concentrating on metrics and man-made measurements (which serves no purpose), Strong Towers will concentrate here on what the Holy Spirit has opened our eyes to. That is all we can do. See, the Lord knows who was touched, the hearts turned back from a drifting life of regret and hurt, the homeless who saw a glimmer of hope when servants of Jesus Christ arrive, the volunteers who were touched by just attending a single outreach event, or those that will dedicate their life to Jesus Christ at some time after we leave. This is solely the business of and in the hands of the Lord.

“Grace does not depend on anything in man because it is all of God’s choosing. The source of our salvation is the grace of God alone” (Eph. 2:8-10).

The Lord will use His Soldiers and guide them where to go, what to preach, how to serve and who to serve. Through serving, His Soldiers are refined as they learn more to take the Word of God as the only weapon of attack. There will never be any man made instrument more powerful than the Word of God spoken: Psalm 119:105 “Your WORD is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Luke 8:11 “The seed is the WORD OF GOD”.  Matthew 19:26: But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Psalm 24:8 “Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.”

Why do we do this? Why does Strong Towers exist? Why are we Called and focused in serving the Lord Almighty? One great reason is found in the gospel of Luke 10:20 as Jesus Christ is quoted: “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Are you listening to your Call? Do you hear it? Is your heart heavy? Turn to and read Psalm 149:4. Listen to your Heart. Follow your Heart. Open your Heart to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Lord is calling today and everyday. Will you answer?

"Plead it. Do not give Him rest until He fulfills it. He meant to fulfill it, or else He would not have given it." Charles H. Spurgeon.
