Dear brothers and sisters! Please lend me your eyes and hearts for a few minutes!

Love chose us, blood bought us, and grace unites us! Our God gives us a beautiful and deep bond and fellowship as brothers and sisters through faith; how often do we enjoy its blessings to the depths and heights and breadths opened to us?

Strong Towers wrote you the other day to tell of the ministry drive for the homeless in and around Baltimore this weekend. I am writing to encourage you in love to read of the opportunity and consider it again, and ask God to direct you; to consider giving the time you have to this event, which although short, has a lasting and, by grace, eternal impact!

Let me tell you right now that there is no guilt to be given to draw and entrap you in ministry! Ministry done unwillingly is not the ministry God calls us to. Our Father loves cheerful givers! Let me tell you right now instead that there is joy to be given to draw and liberate you in ministry!

On July 25, (the last trip), I did not want to go; truly I know ministry to be very energizing and enlightening, but I actually planned to show up at church on the Friday night before to help assemble the food, and spend that Saturday writing papers and reading for class. But when I went down to church, I actually could not find anyone there and discovered no one came. Ha! Well, God used that to push me out of my comfortable (very much so, excepting y'all northerner's fickle heat) room and join Todd and Brent for the morning; and the grace and blessings richly afforded me by God in that time, in the fellowship and ministry, is above worth. There are hundreds of homeless around Baltimore; some very bitter and unlovely, and many very receptive and lovely; and all needful of God, as are we. I added some photographs from the day. There were only five of us altogether that day, and we were able to hand out around two-hundred-and-fifty sandwiches, waters and bags of chips to the people, and with many we were able to give encouragement of Scripture and prayer. Too many, we were not able to speak at all; and so I say, the harvest is rich but the harvesters are few and needed!

If I may say so humbly, I know that I will be in South Carolina this weekend, and I fear that no one will come. I once heard a pastor say, 'be careful of praying for harvesters to be sent out into the harvest; God is likely to send you.' So I ask that you pray that harvesters be sent out into the harvest, and that you do go!

Isaiah 52:7 How Beautiful are the Feet of those who bring good news, proclaim peace, bring glad tidings of good things, proclaim salvation, and proclaim to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
Romans 10. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Brothers and sisters, I love you and pray you have a blessed week and weekend! That you answer whatever call God has for you, and however the Spirit moves you; and that when the Spirit moves, you will move with Him! If you do not go, then I pray you provide with earnest prayers!

Grace and peace
